This is an excellent collection of broadcasts, reports, live footage, performances, etc and whilst all are fascinating viewing, some are more special and rare than others. It has been split into three separate sub-menus ; one for 1987, one for 1988, and a curio corner. I won't comment on each and every one - I'll just go with what stands out from the rest. The 1987 section of the DVD contains 2 versions of the MTV 1987 performance. One is far superior quality to the other, however both are still of a high standard. The Network 7 Tour Cancellation Report contains 2 minutes worth of pro-filmed 'Play In The Sunshine' from the Rotterdam 26.06.1987 and is the undoubted highlight of the 1987 section. The MTV S.O.T.T. Film Premiere contains some nice interview footage with Cat and a small documentary on Sheila E's career. The curio corner of the DVD is dedicated to the Video Soul broadcasts and includes a very lengthy 20 minute+ interview with Greg Brooks and Cat to promote the S.O.T.T. movie, along with the Madhouse video for 'Ten'. The 1988 section of the DVD is what REALLY does it for me though. Firstly there are 2 tour reports with pro-filmed footage from the Paris 09.07.1988 concert. The second tour report is far lengthier and of much better quality with a complete version of 'Sister'. Also included on the 88 section is the Grosse Freiheit, Hamburg aftershow footage. The quality of this is rather grainy, and is the only real low point of this DVD. Finally there is the The Palace, Reseda 07.11.88 aftershow - and it is a much more improved version than what I previously had seen. It has been filmed by an audience member from the balcony over the stage, and there are some excellent close-ups. The 2nd half of the show is performed in near darkness, however that's no fault of the person filming. The Reseda footage also has a few moments where the tape chews up, and both audio and video halt then restart. It's no biggie, and is a tiny complaint for such good quality, extremely rare footage. Overall I must admit to being a big (read : huge) fan of this release. There is more than enough rare footage on here to keep anyone happy. The menu's are simple and uncluttered, and the chaptering exact and precise.
