The St. Johnny Band is made up of Bohemian musicians, specializing in a variety of 50's American roots music including blues, rock’n’roll and rockabilly. The band (from Czech Republic) is St. Johnny (Stehlik Jan) on vocal and guitar, Charlie Slavik on vocal and harp and Milan Schmidt on bass. Drawing from an arsenal of well known black blues musicians (e.g. Mississippi John Hurt, Big Bill Broonzy, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Jimmy Rogers) to their white colleagues (e.g. Hollywood Fats, Carl Perkins, Elvis Presley), this band has been taking audiences for trip back to fifties since December 2004. His album is a tribute to the old blues masters.

'..."I’m always intrigued when artists from outside the United States can perform blues with an authentic sound. St. Johnny and Charlie Slavik from Czech Republic really 'deliver the goods' on their CD 'These Times Are Gone'. This is country blues the way I like it!
