Synopsis:

The tale of two orphans, trained by a Shaolin master in the deadly art of the Buddhist Fist. Separated by fate, they are finally reunited after a series of diasters in lethal combat.

Fate reunites them after a series of attacks at the monastery, and a surprise revelation leads to a duel to the death between the two brothers. Packed with furious fight scenes expertly choreographed by Yuen Wo Ping and presented in its original widescreen glory, THE BUDDHIST FIST is good old-fashion kung fu fighting at its very best! Aspiring barber and experienced kung-fu fighter Shang learns that his childhood friend, Siu Ming, has been framed for murder by an unknown villain. When Shang begins looking into the crime, he soon finds himself the target of an assassination attempt. Who is behind all these crimes, and can Shang stop them?

Inhoud:

De film gaat over twee wezen, waarvan één een boedhist monnik gaat worden. Ze groeien samen op en leren kung fu van dezelfde monnik. Maar op een dag scheiden hun wegen, de één gaat zijn geluk beproeven in de stad en de ander blijft op het land leven waar zijn tempel staat. Het gaat al snel fout in de stad en daarom keert de jongen terug om zijn peetvader om raad te vragen. Maar deze is inmiddels spoorloos verdwenen. Als hij op onderzoek uitgaat komt hij er beetje bij beetje achter wat er aan de hand is en natuurlijk heeft dit alles met zijn vroegere vriend te maken.
