Post Description
Mahjong is coming to the Wii and, not surprisingly, Koei is the responsible party. We at long last (and you know you've been counting the days, mahjong fan!) have full details on the Wii's first mahjong game.
Officially titled Mahjong Taikai Wii, this game is the latest entry in Koei's long-running Mahjong Taikai series. Mahjong Taikai offers a realistic game of mahjong, minus the frills of games like Koei's own Jan Sangoku Musou, a mahjong title that lets you face off against generals from the Dynasty Warriors series. You won't find any long-dead generals here, but there is a cast of characters, each with his own set of unique mahjong rules.
While one of the selling points of the PS3 version of the game, Mahjong Taikai IV, is 1080p support, the big feature for the Wii version appears to be single handed play. The game can be played exclusively with the Wiimote's D-pad and A and B buttons. Too bad this isn't a port of one of those classic Sega Saturn strip mahjong games.
