Post Description
Folk, traditional, Armagh, Irish. Een vondst weer.
‘Seoda Uladh’ (Jewels of Ulster) reimagines lesser-known traditional Ulster songs in both Irish and English, with one song representing each of the nine counties and an additional track ”for good luck”. The collection reflects the cultural traditions, history, and shared heritage of Ulster through music, song and story.
Each song begins with a place, a memory, a story, a piece of home and the journeys that reflect and shape us. The handpicked collection highlights how song and story are inextricably linked and can connect us to that place we call home, no matter where we are in the world!
Fans of Cara Dillon, Pauline Scanlon, Ríoghnach Connolly and Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh connect with Sinéad’s heartfelt vocal delivery, rich arrangements, and deep connection to place, belonging and tradition.
The project began in 2023 and features some of Ireland’s finest musicians; Seán Óg Graham, Seamie O’Dowd, Cathal Hayden, David Bell, Rory Madden, Colin Henry, Kieran Leonard, Pádraig McGovern, Conor Crimmins and showcases the stunning vocals of: Daniel Donnelly, Karen Kirby, Helen Cassidy and Eva McRory.
Inspired by themes of home, heritage, and the voices that shaped us. Sinead’s hope is that you find some Jewels in the tracks.
