Guy De Pré selecteerde alle tracks, waarvan sommige nooit eerder gecompileerd op eerdere Pré Historie-cds. Hij voorzag tevens elke box van een uitgebreide track by track-commentaar en bijbehorend actua-overzicht per decennium, wat terug te vinden is in het bijgeleverde booklet.
