5/10 - Birds

Being able to fly changed everything for birds. For one thing, they could travel further and faster, seizing opportunities that earth-bound creatures couldn't. But having feathers also meant they could create gorgeous mating displays and we see some fabulous - and strange - examples in this film. There are some startling moments, too - watching a Himalayan eagle swallowing a large animal bone whole is likely to give you a lump in your own throat - while the sight of pelicans picking off tiny baby gannets and gulping them down live is horribly distressing.
