Lionel Brockman Richie, Jr. (born June 20, 1949 in Tuskegee, Alabama), is an American singer-songwriter, musician, record producer and actor.
From 1968, he was a member of the musical group Commodores and made his solo debut in 1982 .
He also composed "Lady" for Kenny Rogers and collaborated with Michael Jackson on the charity single "We Are The World" by USA For Africa
