Dit is een adventuregame uit 1996.
De game is van Virgin Interactive en had voor die tijd een zeer hoge productiewaarde.
Het spel gaat over Drew (gespeeld door Christopher Lloyd) een tekenaar uit de echte wereld die in een cartoonwereld terechtkomt.
De koning van deze wereld belooft hem te helpen om weer thuis te komen, maar wil dat Drew eerst de cartoonwereld helpt.
Drew wordt hierin vergezeld door Flux Wildly, een cartoon die Drew vele jaren geleden zelf ontwierp.

Deze game is lang niet bij iedereen bekend, maar is een klein juweeltje dat elke adventuregamer ooit gespeeld moet hebben.

De game was heel lang niet goed speelbaar op nieuwere systemen, bij sommige mensen werkte 't wel met dosbox, maar dat werkte niet voor iedereen en ging ook niet zonder slag of stoot.
Sinds kort bied ScummVM echter ondersteuning voor deze game en dat maakt het allemaal een stuk makkelijker...

instructies:

Installeer de bijgeleverde ScummVM.
Start ScummVM en selecteer "add game".
Blader naar de map met de zojuist gedownloade Toonstruck bestanden (de hoofdmap, dus niet één van de sub mappen) en selecteer "Choose".
Dan kun je eventueel nog wat instellingen aanpassen zoals een grafisch filter om het allemaal iets mooier te maken en dan ben je klaar.

Selecteer nu Toonstruck in de lijst en klik op "Start".

This is an extremely captivating cartoon puzzle adventure game in which Christopher Lloyd from Back to the Future himself plays a cartoonist called Drew Blanc who got stuck in his own cartoon world. He soon befriends Flux Wildly (voiced by Dan Castellaneta) who becomes his side kick in this crazy adventure. The problem is that the cartoon world is threatened by a ruthless new character with a devastating weapon of evil, a flying machine equipped with a ray beam that mutates the pleasant, childish landscape and its inhabitants into dark, twisted and mean counterpart versions of themselves. He now must find and destroy the character to save the world, before he can finally go home. The gameplay is very interesting and quirky as the whole game is, with interesting puzzles and very humorous dialogues. The game is visually absolutely breathtaking. The whole game is one big beautiful cartoon, save Drew, who is a live actor. As goofy the game looks and plays, the game sounds like that, too. The voice acting is also top notch. This game is absolutely perfect for children for its simplicity and beauty, and kudos have to be made for Christopher for his fantastic acting. If you choose to play it yourself, prepare to be completely immersed in the beautiful cartoon world in which you will never want to get out of. Perfect.
